Lion (Panthera leo) are the largest of the African cats.
They have body colors that range from reddish-gray
to pale tawny with lighter underparts. Only the adult
male carries a mane of long hair extending from the
sides of the face on to the neck, shoulders and chest.
The mane colors range from tawny to black.
