The Giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis) gets its name from
the Arabic "xirapha" which means "one who walks
swiftly". The Giraffe is the tallest animal in the
world. The body is made up of a lattice pattern
consisting of large irregular shaded patches seperated
by networks of light-colored bands which cover the
body. Giraffes like to live in dry savanna woodlands.
